Welcome Chief Wayne Holben to the NBRPD!
The Northern Berks Regional Police Department began a new chapter yesterday, March 9, 2026. Please join us in welcoming Chief Wayne Holben to the department!!!
Chief Holben joins us with over 25 years of policing experience and recently retired as a Sgt. with the West Reading Police Department. While with West Reading, he served in various roles, such as K-9 handler, criminal investigator and FTO. This extensive knowledge base, focus on community engagement, emphasis on officer safety/well-being and his own ties to our Northern Berks community made him a logical choice to lead the NBRPD.
Chief Holben was officially sworn in during a ceremony at MDJ Strand’s office yesterday morning, attended by family, coworkers (both old and new!) and police commission members. After a full day, Chief Holben then attended his first Northern Berks Regional Police Commission meeting and introduced himself to our community members and leaders.
The Northern Berks Regional Police Department is confident in this new leadership and looks forward to writing this new chapter. Again, please join us with a warm welcome for Chief Wayne Holben!
